Tiffin Shewmake, Executive Director; Center for Retail Compliance
Tiffin Shewmake is the Executive Director of the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s (RILA) Center for Retail Compliance (CRC), a leading resource for environmental compliance in the retail industry. In this role, Tiffin works with retailers to identify key compliance challenges at national, state, and local levels and develop innovative tools to make compliance programs more effective and cost efficient. The organization is currently exploring the role new technologies like AI can play in helping companies assess and advance their compliance programs.
Tiffin has focused on environmental compliance and sustainability performance and management her entire career. Prior to joining RILA and the CRC, she worked with federal agencies including the National Park Service, Forest Service, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, to help teams identify environmental and sustainability challenges and set goals and performance measures. In addition, she has worked with regulators to improve compliance results within the regulated community. Tiffin has a BS in Biology from Syracuse University and an MS in Information Systems from George Mason University.
